OPPO para producir el primer smartphone cámara de MEMS

According to various rumors, nexus 5 will be the first smartphone on the market equipped with a camera for MEMS. This is not the case, say manufacturers of Chamber of MEMS chip DigitalOptics. They say that OPPO hit to Google technology.

In a statement today John Thode, President of DigitalOptics said:

We are proud to announce exclusive launch partner OPPO and DOC. OPPO will be the first smartphone OEM to incorporate mems|cam in volume products. OPPO has an excellent quality brand in China as demonstrated by the launch of September 23, the innovative N1 Smartphone platform. Integration of modules mems|cam on best in class of OPPO smartphones will bring an exciting computational image user experience that offers greater promise of OPPO brand.

A press release had reinforced the point saying:

There has been speculation about who would be the first to bring significant benefits of mems|cam the mobile market of images. Last week, several technology news blogs reported that mems|cam were first brought to market in another Smartphone platform. The reports were inaccurate.

So who cares that shooter 8MP Nexus will have in it? 8MP is 2011 anyway, right?

I think that MEMS technology needs a little explanation before asking these questions.

MEMS is short for Micro Electro mechanical system. This system is a way of moving a microchip with no external mechanical incorporated mechanical elements. You probably own devices with a MEMS chip, as well as operates a car airbag sensor (among may other applications).

MEMS|Cam, the division of DigitalOptics who have developed the camera system of MEMS for smartphones, have used this technology to move the mount focus lens of his camera more than the standard voice coil method (similar to the magnet and coil at the back of the speaker).

There are many reasons to do so, including low power consumption and better reliability, but what is really interesting is the massive increase in rate of speed and catch.

A mems|cam approach is significantly faster than any camera technology current smartphone due to the efficiency of the MEMS motion, and the shutter will be around 5ms fire, considering that your coil of middle voice and shutter mechanism will be approximately 30ms. This means that the camera will surely concentrate much until the slow old finger reaches the button.

The mems|cam system uses the time extra was in his hands take a burst of photos all focused on different parts of the scene. This allows you to take a composite of them and concentrate at will after you've taken the shot. This is very similar to the experience you have a phone Nokia PureView, except without the massive file sizes associated with the 41mp camera with integrated camera.

Here's a video that explains things more:

This technology is now available in the Lytro point and shoot camera that takes decent pictures, so in theory OPPO should have a fantastic camera on your next phone, but we all know how easily mobile phone manufacturers seem to be able to ruin things. It is best to have judgment for now.

As soon as the link 5, which asks the question if we are going to get another below par snapper as all previous phones Nexus.
